Easy to install, works great, makes a great look over stock.
Got this a almost two years ago now. Shortly over a year I had a problem with the balance and fade. One set of speakers would not respond. I took it to a specialist and was told one of the channels was bad. I contacted Alpine. they said "out of warrantee. sorry." contacted 4wheel drive parts where it was purchased and installed and they contacted their Alpine rep. Same story...out of warrantee. sorry. I decided for 1000.00 bucks I would have to live with it. Now at close to two years after installation, the sound goes up and down without input on my part. I have always been a die hard Alpine guy with all my car audio upgrades. I will be looking to replace this head unit with another brand. At this point function trumps fit and finish.
It’s a spectacular unit and a serious upgrade form the 430N. Make sure you reverse the speaker connections with the vehicle (front hooked to rear, rear hooked to front) if you are using Nav and Siri. Easy install, took a few hours but no special tools needed other than the trim removal tool. Also be sure to tuck the GPS antenna under the rear part of the hard top when you stick it on top of the speaker bar; the tabs of the front roof sections come down too far and won’t seat properly if you place it where a front panel will sit when they are on.
