I want to love these rock sliders - I love the company - but if you're really doing any type of wheeling you're probably better off with a more basic slider with a removable step you can take off when you go wheeling. I purchased these in Aug 2019 bc I do moderate wheeling with my friends in California (Bald Mountain, Dishpan Springs, Rubicon, Deer Valley, Cleghorn, etc), but I also had to take my dad to doctors appointments, and needed something that would make it easier for him to get in and out of. When I saw these I thought - these are perfect. They look very clean - the design is very sharp. You can tell RSE took their time to really make these rails fit seamlessly with the rest of the design of the Wrangler. Installation is moderate, but the instructions are clear and can be done at home by a DIYer. The mechanism for opening and closing is nicely designed too. The rails open and close quickly when either of the doors on the same side open. My problem is with the ruggedness. A couple of months after installing these, I took my JKU out for a ride on the Rubicon Trail and ended up slipping on a rock and landing the driver side rocker on that rock. When we got off the trail, I noticed the step wouldnt deploy because the frame/housing of the rail had bent in such a way that it pinned the step from deploying. I ended up having to remove the rail and hammer the plate flat again. Fast forward a year later and I noticed that the steps started to dangle from their flush position, tucked inside the rail. I called RSE, and they recommended I purchase replacement shocks that pull the step back up. But to install the shocks you have to remove the entire rail (again). Now in June 2022, I just got back from a trip to Deer Valley trail in Tahoe/Stanislaus, and after hitting a rock on the passenger side, that step wont deploy (bent the rocker on that side - which will require hammering it out like the driver side). I know on the web page they recommend getting the additional reinforcement plates to add strength, but if that's the case, then why are the standard rock sliders called "rock sliders"? I wouldnt normally write a review, but when I purchased these things, they were $1800 and now they list for over $2300. Add to that another $600 for the reinforcement plates? If you're going to really to any type of trail riding where your rockers might take a ding, I think there are lots of other options available for less than $3000, that get you almost the same features. I will say - again - they are the best looking sliders. Very clean looking and I get lots of compliments, But for that price, the slack shock and the bent plating just doesnt seem worth it. Hope this helps a few of you out there in making your decision. Sorry RSE. I love you guys. I love that you manufacture in the US, but there's still some room for improvement in your design - hope you can turn my opinion around!
RockSlide Engineering step sliders are awesome!! This item from 4wheel parts does not come with the rear extensions, mounts or electronics to install it. (even thought it states on the page that everything is included tp install them) Once I figured this it out, they said I needed to buy a $400+ parts that are not offered on the web page. This is my last purchase from 4wheel parts on line.
These Gen 3 Sliders are WAY easier to install than Gen 1's & 2's seen on videos. Almost paid good money to install; but, I'm super glad I didn't. If I had a video to watch, I could've done it in half a day; but, because of researching, and even instructions giving me Gen 1 directions, I had to stop and wait for tech support, for the on/off switch wiring instructions. If I had to do it again, I can probably get them installed in 3 hours. A ding on the 4WP website.... 4WP doesn't offer the armor; which, I had to order directly from manufacturer. Cost extra; but, when I hit the Rubicon next year, it will have been worth it. With armor install, I think it would take about 9 hours to get done. Otherwise, super easy for the mall crawler install without armor.
Drivers side is flawless, Passenger side not working.
Came damaged foled claim but haven't heard anything back from 4wp waited months for these to be back in stock only just to be disappointed by damaged box and parts.
Wonderful product. 4WP did a perfect installation!! Looks like they came from the factory on my Bronco!! The guys were also very knowledgeable and helpful and didn't make me feel like a dumb girl. They were very nice. When I picked it up, my vehicle it was just as clean as when I took it in. Thats a big plus in my book. Thank's 4WP!!!
Awesome product. Got shipped fast. Great look. Makes a huge difference in getting in and out of my lifted jeep.
Easy install follow directions. Watching install on YouTube video makes the install even easier...

Q: Is this the price for the set? Driver and passenger side Answer this question
A: Yes for the pair of step side rock sliders without the additional armor. This is a great product, love them! I recommend the added armor as they are only rated @ a 6 without the armor. The armor is a great insurance policy for ensuring you don’t damage your investment. I slammed the entire weight of my JKU on 1 tons @ 38’s with no damage at all. They are very tough!
