Just one look at the Rugged Ridge AmFib Snorkel System for Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT models and you know this is not your typical snorkel. We designed the Low Mount Snorkel to make a visual splash by devising a base that blends seamlessly with the factory cowl panel and then topped it off with a low air intake that instantly becomes the focal point that you can’t take your eyes off of. While making such a big splash is great, our quest for a superior snorkel went far beyond the visual. We engineered the entire AmFib snorkel inside the Jeep to literally make waves, by designing a system that is over-engineered to be less invasive, performs better and installs easier than any snorkel we’ve ever built before. The entire system and its components look “at-home”, as though they we’re part of the Jeeps original design. But where the rubber really meets the road is where the AmFib Snorkel truly shines…Quickly swap the low air intake for the High Mount Intake and you can defy water crossings with total confidence. Great product by Rugged Ridge! Wanted a snorkel without having to butcher up my hood. Install was easy and fits up very nicely. Could totally pass for factory. Love the versatility of a full or shorty snorkel as well.
Love the look was a little difficult to install. The intake box was a tight fit and the cowl part need a lot of pressure to get set into place. It was worth the days work.
I bought this snorkel setup for my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon- Rocklander USA . I pair it with a K&N air filter and gained 4-6 MPG at 45MPH or less around town. On freeway at 65MPH I gained 2-3 MPG during a long trip. At 75 MPH, long trip, I noticed no difference.
Does not fit Mojave, like the website says it does. It's hard to find parts that definitely fit the Mojave edition of the gladiator. I didn't find where it wouldn't fit until everything was disassembled and going back together. The cowl is much larger and it wasn't even close to fitting. I was super excited to see this thing on the Jeep. Guess I will have to look at something else. Not sure about cutting the hood.
Install was very easy, don’t even need to remove the grill, that was my biggest concern as I have a heavy aftermarket bumper and winch. Nice cold, clean air for the engine and some protection if it’s a tad deeper than anticipated
Got the snorkel on sale at a reasonable price. Took about 2 hours to install with an 8 year old helper which probably added more time to it. Instructions were spot on and there are plenty of online tutorials. A very clean install and looks factory. I also havent had any windnoise issue with it either.
Read the small letter, you’ll need the low mount in order to use/connect the high mount. I bought the high mount just for the looks but after it arrived I was forced to buy the more expensive part in order to even be able to connect it to my Jeep.
My wife always wanted a “real” Jeep so we picked up a 2020 JLU Willys in Sarg Green (looks awesome). As you can expect we had to start doing things to it, and this was one. Even tho her Jeep will probably never come within 100mi of any type of stream we liked the looks of this. We bought the short snorkel kit. Install was fairly easy, instructions were spot on for the most part. I installed the hose clamps on the side of the tube to allow for more good clearance (the clamps hit the hood liner and the hood is harder to close). Added a K&N drop in filter at the same time and it gives it a mellow rumble when floored.
Q: When the high mount is on, what prevents water from entering the opening on the low mount? Sorry I am trying to visualize this in my head. Answer this question
A: There is a silicone gasket that seals the mating surface of the two, plus the low mount inlet area. When mounting the high one, you get a new low inlet mount that is closed. There is a credit card gap area that meets the cowl but when vacuum is present it pulls the silicone gasket to it like a vent flap. I don't think that is entirely waterproof when you ford streams that would reach the hood line.

A: The lower mount has a rubber gasket that seals the opening. If you take off the top mount you just remove the gasket and the lower mount becomes the air intake.
